A bus trip to Salumi's and China town in downtown Seattle

Wednesday, October 6, 2010

Ron, Jean and Susan took the bus to downtown Seattle. (The transit system in the Seattle area is something to behold.)

Susan was sitting across from us in the "middle link" between two busses. The link swiveled on the turns. Kind of felt like being on the teacup ride at Disney World. :0

We ate at "Salumi's" Salami deli in Downtown Seattle near Chinatown. The deli is owned by Mario Bartoli's father. Great italian sandwiches. A small "front" - probably no more than 14 ft. wide...seating for maybe 20...you eat and go...no time or space to sit and chat.
But look at the line out front...they say it always has 20 or more people lined up waiting to get in...many just order "to go"...

From there we walked a few blocks to Chinatown and went through the Wing museum - which was devoted to sharing the experience of the Asian Pacific refugees over the past 100 years. Very interesting.
