Theodor Roosevelt National Park

September 8, 2010

We finally got to use our Senior Pass and get into the Teddy Roosevelt National park FREE!!

We caught some great shots of the scenery. Remembrances from when we lived in North Dakota - 16 years - and made more than one trip to Medora and the park. When the kids were small they were most interested in the prairie dogs. Kind of remind you of the "bopper" game at Chucky Cheese. They peak their heads out of their holes...and then disappear.

The little Missouri winds through the park...before heading toward Bismark.

We had a family reunion on Ron's side of the family one year and took the horseback trail rides through the Teddy Roosevelt park. This time, we thought the car was more appropriate. :-)

We caught great pics of the animals..prairie dogs...mule deer...and...especially the buffalo.

We were close enough to touch him...and had a moment of concern that we were in a RED CAR. Fortunately, the buffalo and the bull are not of kindred spirit, and we exited the park unscathed.
