Sheridan, Wy

Sept 11, 2010

We had two major points of interest in Sheridan, WY.

The amazing Sheridan hotel - which still looks just as it did back in the days of Buffalo Bill Cody. The Sheridan Hotel was considered the finest Hotel between Chicago and San Francisco in the day. We were graced by a "photo shoot" for a commercial, and witnessed Buffalo Bill and Calamity Jane dancing in the ballroom.

The statue outside the inn depicts the joy and frivolity that occured in this spacious 64 room hotel.

Entrance lobby, and here's where you check in.

The bar. The Original bar from the time of Buffalo Bill...And a portrait of Buffalo Bill. Totally cool.

The second attraction was the Kendrick house. Named "Trails End" depicts the colorful ranching history of Sheridan, Wyoming. This home, built in 1913, in the Flemish revival style, cost $130,000, and was owned by John Kendrick...who later became Governor of Wyoming, and a US Senator. Back when you could buy a few acres of land for $500...and build a fine house for $1000-1500...you can imagine how lavish this house is built and furnished.
