Massachusetts Oct 8-13, 2011 Martha's Vineyard

On to Massachusetts...and our stay at "Peters Pond" in Sandwich, MA on the Cape.  We had a cool spot.  The park was awesome...and we got really good rates because they were shutting down for the season on the 15th.
Once again...we took the tour.  Drove from Sandwich to Falmouth, MA to catch the ferry to Martha's Vineyard.  We have never seen as many sailing vessels as we have on the east coast.  Lots of marinas.   Lots of Yachts.
Caught a bit of the seashore as we sailed away.  Oh, and we might add that these "huge" homes on the bluffs are "summer cottages."  A get-a-way home for those who can afford it.

And lighthouses are plentiful.  But it makes such a neat picture.  :-)  This was out on a point on Martha's Vineyard.  Vendors, and food kiosks close by.  Nice beaches.  This was a stop for the tour bus.

An Artists legacy in the middle of town.  ...And...more yachts come into view as we return.  We were shown the "driveways" to properties of "vacationers" such as Obama, Onassis, Clinton,...the entrances to the properties were very long...you could not see the houses...but could visualize that they were on the bluff - facing the ocean...and very well protected from the rest of society.
