Adirondack Mts and Lake George New York

We stayed in Gansevoort, NY at the base of the Adirondack Mtns. and took an "OctoberFest Cruise Luncheon" on Lake George.

It was a bit chilly...but once we were inside the boat, it didn't much matter.

Huge lake...lots of our "first view" of "summer cottages."  More like 50 room mansions...that someone built as a "summer cottage" "because they could."
The "oompah" band was authentic...and did all of the old German songs.  Tuba player was awesome.  Had to chuckle...a tour was placed on the first floor...right in front of us...and right next to the "oompah" band...Too noisy, their leader exclaimed...asking to be placed elsewhere.  It was a full ship.  What can one say.  They survived!!!  The band leader did "mention" that the
first floor seats usually went for higher prices...just to be with the band...but, apparently they waived the extra fee that day...so patrons sitting on the first floor should feel lucky.  The leader of the tour group was a really loud "sassy" one.  Not sure she caught any of what the band leader said.  :-) But, we had a chuckle.
