Boston - Oct 11, 2011

On July 18, 1776 the Declaration of Independence was signed in this building.  The Boston Massacre took place at the front of this building.  It is protected and stands amid massive skyscrapers today.

Our on and off trolley took us to many parts of the city...Hop on...Hop off.  We love it.

Stopped at the wharf which  contained two important vessels.  The "destroyer"  The USS Cassin Young.

Next was the tour of the USS Constitution "Old Ironsides"...Most amazing tour.  Most amazing ship...it was names OLD IRONSIDES because the canon balls bounces off it's sides.  Not made of IRON, as the British suspected.  But of layers of well placed, hardwoods.

Hammocks for sleeping.  Several wood bins for water, and liquor.  They were allowed somewhere around 1/4 cup of liquor per day.  HMMMM...
On our way to Lunch at the UNION OYSTER HOUSE - the oldest - still in business - restaurant in Boston...we caught a glimpse of the window washers on a highrise.  Makes the stomach queezie just to look at them.
On to the Oyster House...FAMOUS.

Yup..Oysters for Ron.   And once, again...we share the lobster roll.  Gosh those are addicting.  It was a must to visit the KENNEDY booth...as the Kennedy family frequented this restaurant...so much so...that "their" booth has "honors."
