Outer Banks and Kitty Hawk, North Carolina Oct 27-29, 2011

We next found our campsite in Rocky Mount, NC.  A nice Elks club, again.  We had water and electric, and laundry...and there was a dump to use before we left.  It was Perfect!

We took off for the outer banks...and got as far as Nags Head..."in time for lunch?," you say...you are getting to know us too well.  The equation is H20 plus potential seafood equals lunch...or dinner, depending upon the time of day.  Sugar Creek was a winner!!!  Crab/scallop bisque and a spring mix salad with crab...and a raspberry vinagrette.  And corn bread.  We have noticed that the "to go with" for meals as we head south is cornbread or hush puppies rather than bread, rolls, or crackers.

After lunch we continued our journey to Kitty Hawk...the home of the "first successful machine powered flight." And, home of the Wright Brothers memorabilia.  The statue is on top of the hill from which they practiced their "glides."

The outdoor staging was pretty cool!
