We drove from Pahrump, NV to Las Vegas on the 24th and stayed in a LaQuinta - they had free parking for the week - and shuttle service for our early departure - so it was a go! Thanksgiving Day was a Turkey Feast at Wendi & Chris's house in Lawrence. We counted 25 for dinner, but there might have been a couple more. Friday we got down to serious business. Brad, Sheila, Jean, and the 4 granddaughters got busy making all of the traditional Christmas cookies for everyone to share. The kids had a ball.
Sheila showing Rowen how to pat down the crust when you're making the Turtle bars. [She'll probably do it on her own next year.]
Charli in her chef hat is ready to jump in and do her part.
Jenn joined us just in time to start stirring on the sandbakklse.
Oh what a busy crew. They had so much fun. Jenn was the QA advisor...and made sure the tins were not too thick or too thin.

Now Brad is usually the master chef...but he became the master mixer for cookie dough.
On Saturday...the kids got to play in the humongous leaf pile that Chris had been collecting just for the occasion.
And then it was time for the swings in the back yard. [A beautiful day.]
The kids were having fun...cookies were done...time to get outside...but Wendi still had catch-up work...getting the leaves out of the pond. Oh, well. Plenty of adult supervision without her.
And Chris had to fix the pump in the pond. OK...still plenty of adults around.
Bedtime and the girls got to watch a movie.
